    Prayers of David – Trust
The prayers of David, many contained in the Psalms, are an earnest, often repentant, always trusting expression of one human being's relationship with a God who was as real to him as the hills and trees surrounding him. Why was trusting God so important to David? Why is it important that our prayers express both our doubts and our faith? Note: this message had two video clips. The brief audio of the first clip has been included in this recording; the second, longer audio portion of a video clip has been edited out.   SERMON TEXT:  Psalm 51

Prayers of Moses – Standing in the Gap
Moses was filled with excuses. But when God called him to lead his people out of bondage into a new land, Moses responded with humility and faith. He spoke with God, the Bible says, "face to face" and he listened intently to God's instructions. Though Moses was not perfect, the task given to Moses was so daunting, so fraught with danger, that we cannot but conclude that his strength came not from himself but from the relationship forged in prayer with his Lord and God.

The first part of this sermon deals with a topic from the previous week that Pastor Bob felt needed some "un-packing." The question:  "What is the purpose of The Ten Commandments." The second half of the sermon addresses questions of authentic worship and praise.

    Christmas is Just the Beginning
If you want to understand the meaning of Christmas, don't stop at the opening chapters of the Gospels - press forward and fall in love with the story of a God who loved us while we were yet sinners. A God who offers us so much more than we can ever imagine - peace beyond understanding, joy that overflows the boundaries of our hearts, and love that heals all our wounds.
