Welcome!

When you visit Verona UMC, I hope you will discover a warm, welcoming, caring, and mission-minded church, open to new ideas and visions. The people of VUMC have worked hard to create a place where people can experience God within a supportive Christian community.

This is a church of all ages and stages, from young to old, married or single. On a typical weekday you will find classrooms filled with pre-schoolers, a fellowship hall filled with groups working on church projects, persons serving families in need through our food pantry, and a variety of community support groups from Scouts to AA to the Ruritans.

We understand the purpose of church to be threefold: to help people find a relationship with Jesus Christ that is authentic and life-changing; to help people grow and mature in their faith; and to help people discover and utilize their own gifts for ministry. We sum all of this up in saying that we want to offer our guests

“a place to belong; a place to become.”

We are an involved church. Our members don’t just sit in pews. They deliver meals to the homebound, drive nails for persons victimized by natural disasters, go with our youth on summer mission trips, teach classes, and work with Scout groups.

We are a church that respects tradition but is open to innovation. Worship at VUMC is not one size fits all. From the more traditional sounds of an organ, to the upbeat rhythm of guitars, we speak many worship languages as we seek to share the gospel with authenticity and relevance. In every service we strive to sound the notes of hope and grace.

It is our hope and desire that you will feel ‘at home’ here at Verona United Methodist Church and that this will be a place you can become all that God created you to be.
